Why are wood baseball bats safer than metal ones?

what are some of the arguments for having wood baseball bats.

when you hit a ball, wood bats absorb the shock better protecting your hands.
Cause a metal bat can be hit harder than a wooden and can hurt someone very badly
There’s actually no evidence that wood bats are safer than metal bats. I would actually say metal bats are safer, they don’t break as easily.
But in higher levels of baseball, especially MLB, there is no way they can use metal bats. Guys would be crushing 600-foot homers every at-bat.
I’d say metal is safer cuz wood breaks and when it breaks you’ve seen it its like giant splinters flying at you. I’ve never seen a metal bat break like that and I doubt anyone else has lol. But wood does absorb the shock better then metal but i would defiantly rather deal with my hands hurting then a giant splinter in my eye or something.
It is because the ball comes off of metal bats at a higher speed giving fielders and fans, for that matter, less time to react to it. Wood bats all give off a pretty uniform ball speed.
